A day at Ark
Each day at Ark follows a predictable rhythm within a calm and well-organised environment. Clear routines, visual supports, and well-prepared transitions help children feel safe and understand what is happening around them.
Within this shared structure, each child is supported by their own educator. This allows for close attunement to the individual child’s interests, emotional regulation, and developmental level, while also creating opportunities for interaction and shared experiences within the group.
The day includes a balance of individual activities, familiar routines, small-group experiences and opportunities for independent exploration and spontaneous interactions.

The programme is designed to develop communication, shared attention, and social engagement. Activities include relationship-based play and Floortime interactions; cognitive and motor-planning activities; sensory and movement experiences; music, art, and creative activities; and small-group developmental play and learning sessions.
Individual therapy sessions with specialists such as speech, movement, sensory processing, developmental play, and music therapists are integrated into the daily programme. Because therapists work closely with educators, new skills can be supported and practised throughout the day in natural interactions.
The programme also includes community participation. Regular visits to local parks, playgrounds, shops, libraries and other public spaces provide a wealth of opportunities to practice communication, flexibility, social engagement, and daily life skills in less predictable environments. We hope that these experiences also help build understanding and inclusion within the wider community.
