More about us

Ark is a small day centre offering specialised education for children with autism and other developmental challenges. We provide skilled one-to-one support for each child within the context of a dynamic group setting. Ark is a stimulating, child-focused learning environment. Every child has unique strengths to be nurtured and unique challenges to overcome. We also offer consultation and training for parents and other organisations, as well as in-home support.

A day at Ark

“All children have within them the potential to be great kids. It’s our job to create a great world where this potential can flourish.” Stanley Greenspan, MD (Great Kids, 2007)

One-to-one support

We are a small, not-for-profit foundation (stichting) launched in 2010. Ark is for children aged 3 to 13 years with autism, communication and language delays, sensory processing disorders, PDD-NOS and other developmental challenges. We work with children who are not yet ready for a regular school environment. Ark provides intensive one-to-one support throughout the day from a skilled, experienced educator. Children also have the opportunity to work in pairs and small groups – to form friendships and learn from their peers in a structured but playful environment – a vital part of any child’s development.
